The slow movement might debunk the old fashioned quote: "time is money"!
In other words, obsession with speed has to be replaced by a more methodical and quiet life! It means that with methods you may achieve whatever you wish, no matter when. The important is, of course, to be happy now!
This very idea of getting slower was brought by Europeans who became concerned about the dangerous path of rushing life.
By the time, the movement conquered "believers", the cause spread worldwide. So far, no one who joined it regretted the choice! Luckily, they woke up on time!
Actually, this sort of "hasty syndrome" doesn't just happen only to people from big cities! This is odd, but happens elsewhere! They don't want to waste their time because they claim its short. Quite wrong!
How the revolution began!
The whole idea began in order to fight fast food obsession. It was proved that junk food harm health!
Therefore the claim was to eat slowly in order no get sick. Besides eating slow, its mandatory to check food origins as well as its contents!
Why not moving onto fresh farm food and traditional street food? When going to restaurants, must avoid toxic meals. Chew slowly! Talk with your table partners. Be friendly. Slow Home
The small the house, the better to live. No complications. Just enough! Like the so-called "Box-House" principles that explore the purity of the cube. This kind of shape brings out all the lustiness of the apparent reinforced concrete or wood. this concept, the constructive elements present themselves in a natural and simplistic way. The project respects environmental and social criteria, like bioclimatic houses. The home-office idea strengthens this concept, as work can be transferred to the warmth of the home! The moto here is: Go Local, Go Green, Go Small and Go Simple!
Slow City
People from big cities get stressed so easily! A small issue becomes a big one. Since they live in a hurry, hearing car horns, breathing pollution, facing delays, and so on, they have no other choice. That's why the movement arouse! Go walk at a slow pace. Take a deep breath only when close to trees. So go to parks. To become a slow city, the first step is to modify urban plans that have to be modified. How about reducing the number of cars running on the streets? Big promotions to people (from all social classes) go to the parks, museums, and libraries shall also be taken. In other words, the slow city movement came from the idea that cities, large or small, need to preserve their leisure areas, their traditional structures to ease people's lives!
Slow Travel
The idea became from the Swedish Government initiative. During summer vacation the government offered for free, more than 8,000 tickets to anyone who wanted to travel around Europe. The trip had a name: "eco-journey". By train, travelers - from different generations - who joined the great opportunity could go to many places for free! The movement is also known by Slow Europe.
Slow Design
The movement was created in order to motivate artists to produce their art calmly, with no rush. The movement reaches out to other areas, such as music and literature! Everything must be well planned. No hurry on waiting for the inspiration to pop up! After all, any good idea always comes out after meticulous thinking!
People who joined the slow movement start raising their voices for a number of causes that connected to who wanted to live longer and better!
